My eyes look empty today
Devoid of sleep and tears, of both joy and grief
Or could it just be
Low level of Haemoglobin!?
My eyes look numb today
As if the feelings stopped reaching them
And the emotions got blocked on the way
In-between, at the lips, maybe!
My eyes look tired today
Of staring too much into the blank spaces
Of human interactions wrapped in screens
Of trying to look too deep within.
My eyes look sad today
As if the sense of wonder got stuck somewhere
And so did the regrets
As if I got old without having aged…
My eyes look lonely today
Unsure of what they need
Warmth? Of a place or a person?
Or probably just that of Coffee!
